A memory that fuels me
25 years ago my life changed forever. I came to Houston when you said you were sick and in the hospital. The young, naive me didn't realize they had only given you days to live, yet you proved them wrong. But 6 months later after battling Burkett's Lymphoma, your heart gave up. Those 6 months in temporary medical housing are the times I will cherish forever. We had so many deep conversations, watched so many games on TV, and I helped you get through some of the worst side effects of chemotherapy. This experience changed my trajectory from a career in sports marketing to establishing non-profits based on our experience to help pay it forward. Even the work in film and music is helping with the nonprofit work.
I could really use a visit in my dreams again! I miss you and love you!"
